English Language Learners


How to Start:

1) Call Fraser Heights Secondary: 604-582-9231  Make an appointment to Register at the school

2) Phone the Welcome Centre: 604-543-3060   Schedule an English language assessment:               
 
3) Write the assessment at the Welcome Centre, #120—7525 King George Highway (beside Costco).

4) Mrs. Schrader will phone you to write a math assessment and to do course planning back at Fraser Heights.

5) Language and math assessments will be marked as quickly as possible so counselors can complete the timetable.

6) Please wait at home during this difficult time.  We will phone you when your schedule is ready, but it might take a couple of days.  While you wait, you can read the school website at http://www.firehawks.ca.  Look for the student agenda under "Student info."  Then you will start school.

3) Watch the news on TV.  Turn the English subtitles on.

Flex Time:
The ELL room (rm 209) is open for flextime
Wed & Thurs, 11:30 - 12:00
The LST room (rm 210) is open every lunch hour except Friday.
