CHEMISTRY 11
Chemistry 11 is a survey course that expands on some topics covered in junior science as well as introducing many new topics. Students should recognize such topics as naming and formula writing, atomic structure, the periodic table, classification of chemical reactions and solutions. These topics will be explored in much more detail. New to students will be the mole concept, stoichiometry and organic chemistry. A solid background in mathematics is important to success in Chemistry 11 as some of the chemical concepts covered require problem solving and mathematical reasoning.
