AP Chemistry 12
AP Chemistry 12 is designed to prepare students who are intending to pursue a career in science for that important first year at college or university. It covers and expands on all the topics in the British Columbia Chemistry 12 curriculum and includes several additional topics including Thermochemistry, Thermodynamics, Gas Laws and Nuclear Chemistry. Students enrolling in AP Chemistry 12 should have completed Chemistry 11 Honours in their grade 11 year.
Lab work is an important component of the course and students should expect to do approximately one, three-hour lab per week. AP Chemistry 12 is a linear course that meets everyday from September until mid-May when the AP Chemistry Exam is written. After the exam is written the class meets every other day to prepare for the Chemistry 12 Provincial exam.
In order to cover the course material as efficiently as possible, student notes for each unit are posted below. Students are encouraged to print out these notes and bring them to class to complete.
